so, from one pyro to another, where can I just get together with some of you guys and burn down? What's the deal with the plaza here? Is it fire off-limits? What's the vibe?? Who wants to get together and BURN STUFF???

My guess is that open fire on the Plaza is verboten, even if McKinley won't go up in flames.
My second guess is that asking the local PD or Fire Department will only underline the above, but with a nice request and "proper" safeguards like having a fire extinguisher handy (or something) and a testament to "long-term and successful experience" with same, you might make it a community event!
Honestly, nothing (especially this time of year) on the Plaza is flammable, except maybe the trunks of the palm trees, which, of course, if engulfed, would be news for the century!
That may be a good justification to the APD or AVFD.
Surely someone out there has had this experience already! Let's not reinvent a flaming wheel here!

Tue, November 1, 2005 - 9:56 AMI've honestly never had a problem with fire on the plaza. We spun there a couple times outside of the bars last year and there were many hots and hollars but no cops. And if I remember right..... the men in blue were definantly present.

Then there's always the new guy- but isay let's go out and spin. i'm down and so are many more folks. Come hang out with the circus- you will meet many more fire lovers. -
